Help build the road to acceptance together! This April, Autism Acceptance Month, the Autism Society of Greater Akron (ASGA) invites you to build the Road to Acceptance together by being the connection to resources, support, and each other. Join ASGA as we Educate others about Autism, invite people to Participate in one of our many events, and Donate to local individuals and families who need support. Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability in the United States with increasing prevalence rates continuing to create the urgent need for equitable supports and services. One in 36 children is diagnosed with Autism and 5.5 million adults. According to the CDC, Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. “ASGA understands that everyone’s unique experiences are valid, not only during Autism Acceptance Month, but all year round,” said Laurie Cramer, Executive Director of ASGA.“ We are offering opportunities to learn more about Autism and hope our community will help us build the road to acceptance to improve support, services, and resources that are desperately needed for the Autism community. JUMP FOR AUTISM AT GET AIR AKRON ASGA has reserved the entire facility to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month. Nominal fee of $10 per jumper. Caregivers needing to assist jumpers are at no cost. Light refreshments and activities for idle time provided.
