Can you call our U.S. Senators today? We need your voice, Autism Advocate! It’s time to support individuals with disabilities who do not live at home!

Senator’s Portman and Brown need to hear from YOU as they represent Ohio in talks about the latest COVID relief package being debated in Congress.

Please call Senator Portman at 202-224-3353 and Senator Brown at 202-224-2315 with our concerns to protect the people with disabilities who do not live at home and are at a higher risk of getting the disease because they live in congregate settings.

Urge our Senators to ensure that the COVID relief package include funding Medicaid dedicated to home and community-based services and supports. The funds provided through these provisions are critical to protecting seniors and people with disabilities and ensuring their health and safety.

Urge our Senators to also include dedicated funding for special education through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

The Autism Society of America has an easy Action Center where you can also send an email!

@SenatorPortman People with disabilities need support for Home and Community Based services during this pandemic, we must ensure funding is given to provide this in upcoming COVID-19 legislation. #WeAreEssential

@SenatorBrown Over 40% of the 130,000+ deaths that have occurred from COVID19 have been in congregate settings. We must dedicate funding for HCBS in the next legislation.

Nice job, Autism Advocate!

Thank you,
