April is Autism Acceptance Month! [INSERT ORGANIZATION] stands with the Autism Society of Greater Akron in their efforts to change “Autism Awareness Month” to “Autism Acceptance Month”. We will #CelebrateDifferences together as we strive to build an inclusive community where individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities live fully through connection and acceptance.
Happy Autism Acceptance Month! Did you notice the word “ACCEPTANCE” instead of “AWARENESS”? While we will always work to spread awareness, words matter – acceptance is needed as we strive for individuals with autism to live fully in all areas of life. As many individuals and families affected by autism know, acceptance is often one of the biggest barriers to finding and developing a strong support system. #CelebrateDifferences #AAM
