SEIZURE DEVICES & ALERT SYSTEMS

A seizure alert device may help notify others if a seizure occurs. There are a few devices available that can detect repeated shaking movements during a seizure then notify nearby family or caregivers when a seizure occurs through alarms, phone calls or text alerts, depending on the device.

Below is a list of resources for further review and investigation by anyone living with epilepsy. This list is not meant to be comprehensive nor should it be considered an endorsement by the Autism Society of Greater Akron. Families should consult with a doctor to determine if these devices are a possible fit for your situation.
