Tips/Tools: Community Outings with Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Monica Jones is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA). These credentials received through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and the Ohio Board of Psychology. She has been working in the field of education since 2002. Her undergraduate focus was in both general education and special education. She graduated with a K-9 General Education License and a K-12 Intervention Specialist License. She then obtained a Masters of Education with a specialty degree as a Behavior Intervention Specialist. Monica has two children, Luke (11), Matthew (9), and husband (Landon). Her oldest son was diagnosed with autism before the age of 3. This encouraged Monica to further her career in special education and develop a strong passion for ABA therapy. She takes pleasure in spending time with her family and being involved in her boys’ many activities. Monica has a strong connection to her position as a BCBA/COBA and truly has a love for her work in the field of special education.

Erika Nixon has been working in the field of ABA for 12 years. She received her Bachelor's Degree at Baldwin Wallace College in Communication Disorders and her Master’s Degree at Kent State University in Human Development and Family Studies. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst through the Florida Institute of Technology in 2012. Since then she has worked for agencies in San Francisco, California and across Northeast Ohio. She has worked for Total Education Solutions since August 2016. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her pug and traveling!
