volunteer vestVolunteers in our community are helping the Autism Society of Greater Akron fulfill its mission every day – to improve the lives of all affected by autism.  Volunteering with us is easy and there are a number of different opportunities to suit every interest or desire to help, no matter how much time one has to devote to a project.

Everyone has their own reasons for helping others.  Some of the best reasons to volunteer include:

  • Making a difference in another person's life.
  • Building your skills and resume, and networking with others.
  • Having fun and meeting new people.
  • Creating a lasting change in your community.

Casino Royale - August 26
A James-Bond themed Poker Tournament and Casino Night

5:00 pm - 10:00 pm  •  Rosemont Country Club
6 Volunteers Needed in a Variety of Positions

Volunteers must be 21 years or older to fill positions in the following areas:  Registration, Silent Auction & Casino Prizes, Check Out, Wayfinder and Floater.

Summit for Kids - August 19
10 AM - 1 PM (Shift Full) and 1 PM - 3 PM (Shift 2)  •  JOHN S KNIGHT CENTER
2 Volunteers Needed for Shift 2

Volunteers assist with our information and display table by handing out information on our organization and autism, giving kids autism wristbands and "let's be friends" bookmarks, along with applying temporary autism tattoos.

SEPTEMBER

 

Play Games & Make Crafts - September 23
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at ASGA Offices (703 S. Main Street, Akron)
3 Volunteers Needed

We are offering structured activities for kids while parents attend a workshop on BCBA - A Piece of the Puzzle.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and will assist an Intervention Specialist by playing games and doing crafts with kids of all ages.
