  • Make a plan for parent/teacher communication
  • Discover how the child’s team can support his/her social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Gain confidence as an effective advocate

Author, Kindergarten and ASD: How to Get the Best Possible Experience for Your Child

Maggie Oliver is a special education teacher for Akron Public Schools and an author and columnist on the topic of educating students with autism. When a close relative was diagnosed with autism at age three, Oliver delved into all available resources to learn how to support this child. She realized that she needed both information and inspiration. That is what Oliver offers as she joins with parents, educators, and community professionals to create the supports every child needs to fully experience life in all stages.
