Winter Dates To Be Announced
6-week Sessions on Saturdays
10:00-11:00 am  |  Zoom Meetup  |  Cost is $60

LEGO is a toy that is perfectly suited for individuals with special needs. It allows for creative, solitary play; it offers repetitive, stress-reducing movements that build motor skills, and it is a vehicle for social skill building and speech enhancement. In addition, LEGOs build an interest that individuals with a disability can share with their typical peers. And, LEGOs are fun! Today there are multiple practitioners as well as books and programs all focused on the many benefits of LEGO play.

By participating in the LEGO Club, individuals will:

  • Learn to engage with other participants in a positive way
  • Learn to take turns and accept guidance from a facilitator
  • Practice speaking skills when presenting his/her projects to the entire group
  • Strengthen creativity and teamwork abilities
  • Reinforce fine motor skills
  • Create lasting friendships with fellow builders

  • The online LEGO Club is open to any child with a developmental disability, ages 7-12, who has good verbal skills and building capabilities.
  • Participants need a basic supply of LEGO blocks at home to participate.
  • A parent must be present with each child for the entire hour of the meeting.
  • Due to limited resources, ASGA cannot permit outside friends or siblings to participate in the LEGO Club if they are not ages 7-12, are living with a disability and have not registered for the program.

NOTE:  Limited scholarships are available. Please email Wendy, ASGA Support Specialist to discuss.

  • Respect the other members in the group. Listen to their ideas and allow them to finish talking before you begin.
  • Respect everyone’s differences. Different thoughts, interests or ways of doing things are OK.
  • Please give your attention to the group and silence all electronics.
  • If a participant is unwilling to be courteous with others in the Club or refuses to follow the Club guidelines, his/her parents will be notified, and membership in the Club will be suspended.
  • Make new friends and have fun!
