From our Home to Yours: ASGA Holiday Recipes This holiday season, we’ll be sharing favorite family recipes, the story behind them, and why they are important to us and our family memories. Lisa Thompson, ASGA Programs Director "We’ve been sharing ASGA employee family recipes and traditions. As a family living with autism, our traditions look a little different. My son Jordan was surfing YouTube one day (big surprise) and came across a video using a silicone “Pigs in a Blanket” mold. He promptly put it on his Christmas List (which is a miracle by itself) and it ended up under the tree. I modified the recipe so he could complete the tasks independently, so now he makes this appetizer every year for the Thompson Family Carpet Picnic on New Year’s Eve. Enjoy!"

About the Autism Society of Greater Akron The Autism Society of Greater Akron's (ASGA) mission is to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. Parent volunteers of children with Autism founded ASGA in 1987. With nowhere to turn and a lack of information and support, they started ASGA to share information, educate themselves about Autism, and learn how to advocate for better outcomes for their children. They also worked locally to bring awareness and understanding of Autism to the community. ASGA serves Summit, Medina, Portage, Wayne, and Stark county communities. ASGA is also a proud member of the Ohio Family Network (OFN), connecting people with disabilities and their families to local information and resources within their communities. We believe OFN provides opportunities to share ideas, find solutions to common challenges and inspire and strengthen each other |
