HALLOWEEN IN THE PARK Halloween fun for the entire family! Join ASGA and the Portage Park District for a night of trick-or-treating at Trail Lake Park in a supportive, accessible environment. Community partners will hand out treats for kids of ALL ages and abilities. Information on local resources will be available for parents/caregivers. Event is free, but registration for time slot is required. Space is limited! COLLEGE FOR LIVING PROGRAM - The COLLEGE FOR LIVING gives opportunities throughout the year for individuals with developmental disabilities to take part in and explore the many local resources available in the community. Funded through Summit DD, this program offers citizens with disabilities a wide variety of activities to socialize, explore hobbies, or discover new interests. As the primary force in the community dedicated to inclusion, Summit DD believes that communities are stronger when they include everyone – with or without a disability. COVID-19, VARIANTS, AND THE VACCINE - A Virtual Q&A Session with Medical Experts for Caregivers of Children with Disabilities Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm. ROTARY CAMP RESPITE - The YMCA Respite Weekends are fun-filled weekend camp-outs held throughout the year at Rotary Camp. Children and adults with disabilities are eligible to attend. Campers arrive on Friday evening and stay through Sunday morning. OHIO COLLEGE2CAREERS EXPANDS - On September 28, 2021, Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, OOD, Wilberforce University, and Central State University announced the expansion of Ohio College2Careers to ensure students with disabilities have the support they need to complete their degree and/or credential, earn higher wages, and meet the demands of tomorrow’s labor market. |
