TRAINING FOR DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALSDirect Support Professionals (DSP) play a crucial part in the lives of individuals with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). They give direct care and support those with I/DD to lead a self-directed life and contribute to the community to the fullest extent possible. ASGA has been asked many times to provide training to DSP’s on “autism.” We heard you and developed a pilot online training program that addresses some of the common questions we are asked. • I don’t understand why he does that…Sometimes she acts like she doesn’t hear me. • How can I help my clients, help themselves better? • I really want to find a connection, but sometimes it’s hard. • I want to learn more about autism! If you are a DSP, this training is for you! More details coming, but you can email ASGA if you would like to receive information on this training as soon as it is available! |
