Evening Chat for Grandparents

The Autism Society of Greater Akron is excited to provide a time for grandparents to network and talk about their children and grandchildren who are living with a disability. Grandparents play an important role in the family unit and may include:
• Supporting the parents (your children)
• Providing child care/babysitting
• Researching information
• Historian (recalling family stories)
• Some grandparents also fill the role of a parent for their grandchildren
Every family has its own dynamics. Regardless of your situation there are a number of things you can do to help both your child and your grandchild.

NOTE: While there is a focus on autism, grandparents of grandchildren of all abilities are welcome!
