ASGA events and fundraisers bring the Greater Akron autism community together for education, networking, and fun. Events range from the Annual Autism Summit Conference to sensory-friendly days with community partners to our largest annual fundraiser, the Autism 5k Run & Walk. Events and fundraisers offer families, caregivers, educators, other professionals, and individuals with autism a safe, comfortable place to be a part of the community and support ASGA's programs and services. Money raised for ASGA stays local to support those affected by autism in Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties.
Join the Autism Society Greater Akron and Portage Park District for an Inclusive Pop-In Event at Seneca Ponds Park. Registered attendees borrow materials to do leaf and bark rubbings provided by the park to explore the trees and leaves native to Seneca Ponds Park. Each family receives a FREE tree field guide and a hands-on activity to take home

Join us for a two-part series with Barbara Sapharas to learn about the Charting the LifeCourse Framework. It was created by families to help individuals and families of all abilities and all ages to:
• Develop a vision for a good life
• Think about what they need to know and do
• Identify how to find or develop supports
• Discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live.
A discussion for grandparents wanting to learn more about autism spectrum disorders, how to help their children and interact with their grandchildren. Registration is required to participate in this virtual meeting via Zoom.

All disabilities, ages and abilities are welcome! This is a constant conversation and we can all support each other by sharing the barriers we find and how we can overcome them. “Swimming with Autism”, a water safety program created by the Autism Society of Greater Akron in partnership with the Greater Akron YMCA that launched in September of 2017. Participants are taught one on one by a qualified instructor with the focus being water safety along with adapted, appropriate swimming skills specific to the participant.
A fun Social Club for Adults with ASD for ages 18 and over! Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 8:00 pm via virtual Zoom meeting. A great way to meet new friends!
