The Autism Society of Greater Akron (ASGA) is pleased to partner with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) to provide a family inclusive Polar Express train ride for individuals with all different abilities and their families.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Pajama clad families will enjoy an autism-friendly "premium" atmosphere in the Silver Solarium Dome car. This specially designed car has a common area with open seating where the Polar Express movie will be shown (instead of being read). It also has a dome area with tables and booth style seating so you can enjoy cookies and hot chocolate (much easier to hold on to your cup).
This car serves as the caboose for the Polar Express Train Ride, so the car has no additional passenger traffic and is exclusive to ASGA families. In case anyone feels they need a break, there will be a quiet room aboard as well.
Special elves provide activities for families to enjoy and of course, there is a trip to the “North Pole” village and a visit from Santa. Each rider receives a Polar Express commemorative item and we hope all hear the sound of the bell ringing, as it does for all who truly believe!
TICKET PRICES
Reduced ticket pricing made possible in part by a grant from the Hussman Foundation, sponsorship by Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital and ASGA fundraising efforts.
