NEW:  Disability Accessible COVID Vaccine Clinic

ASGA is pleased to announce that it is working with two fantastic partners to offer a free Disability Accessible COVID Vaccine Clinic for anyone interested in receiving the shot, including the booster. Summit County Public Health (SCPH) is bringing its vaccine team, and the Akron Children’s Museum is allowing anyone who receives the vaccine at the clinic (children and adults) to “wait out” the 15-minute observation time for free in the museum.

ASGA is providing the adaptions to the clinic, which include using several tools and techniques to make it easier for individuals who may need extra support to access the vaccine. While the Clinic is disability accessible, it is open to the public and everyone is welcome. Every person vaccinated will receive vaccine kits, which include a shot blocker, stress ball, fidgets, sunglasses and other items. ASGA will also train the SCPH team in the basic characteristics of Autism and procedural changes to help the team support the Autism community beyond this event.
