Events range from the Annual Autism Summit Conference to sensory-friendly days with community partners to our largest annual fundraiser, the Autism 5k Run & Walk. CELEBRATING THE HOLIDAYS WITH AUTISM

The holidays are special times when we invite family members and friends into our homes to share in our traditions of food, culture, celebration and religion. However, despite the weeks of ardent planning, the holidays can cause individuals with autism to experience sensory overload due to shifts in schedules, traveling, familiar foods and broken routines.

Dr. Carrie Cuffman, Behavioral-Developmental Pediatric Specialist with Cleveland Clinic Children’s, will offer suggestions to make the holiday enjoyable for everyone in the family, including your child with autism.

During this webinar, parents and caregivers will learn to:

  • Set family expectations.
  • Use social stories to facilitate new experiences for your child.
  • Create new autism-friendly traditions.
  • Build effective ideas for dealing with meltdowns.
