How can you participate in Autism Awareness Month? Start by getting involved in the autism community! Whether you’re passionate about supporting individuals living with autism and their families or simply learning more about it yourself, there are a lot of amazing organizations, events and activities to choose from all month long. And if you can’t find one that suits you, research and create your own!


Fourth-Annual Autism Summit 2018 • Thursday, April 5, 8:00 am - 9:30 am

The Autism Summit is about working together to identify ways to nurture and create a community that supports individuals living with autism and their families. Hear the Autism Society's policy and program goals, and honor local Autism Ambassadors. This event is SOLD OUT.

Your Local Library • Month of April
Akron Summit County Library
Stop in at any branch of the Akron Summit County Library to check out an Autism Awareness Month display, as well as autism-related books, DVDs and other resources!  Check out Medina, Portage, Stark and Wayne county libraries for displays as well.

Autism Awareness Day, Stark DD • Saturday, April 21, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Autism Society of Greater Akron has teamed up with Stark DD for Autism Awareness Day and learning with a presentation on Brain Mapping and Advocacy and Autism. Learn about local resources at the vendor fair!

Autism 5K Run & Walk • Saturday, June 16, 9:00 am
Firestone Stadium, Akron
Run. Walk. Donate. Join us at the Autism 5K Run & Walk, our signature fundraiser and autism awareness event. Enjoy prizes, food, music, children’s activities, a petting zoo, a kid’s fun run and a vendor fair. Register your team or make a donation HERE.
