#NAAM17 is for YOU! How will you celebrate?
The Autism Society Greater Akron hopes you will join us during the month of April, National Autism Awareness Month (NAAM), to raise awareness of autism within your school and help us celebrate the differences in all of us!
It’s easy to get involved – from painting multi-colored puzzles pieces, to making announcements on the intercom about being a friend to someone with autism, to collecting Change4Change – everyone can be involved and have fun learning. We hope you can take a few minutes to adopt one or more of them – or to make up your own – for your school and/or classroom.
With 1:68 children having a diagnosis of autism, and 1:3 being bullied in the school environment, it’s a month we can do together to highlight the best in all of us! Join us in celebration of #NAAM17, an excellent opportunity to promote autism awareness, autism acceptance and to draw attention to the tens of thousands facing an autism diagnosis each year.
Raise Awareness with StudentsAwareness is just the first step to improving the lives of those affected by autism. Awareness must lead to acceptance and acceptance to action. The link below has a list of autism facts and tips on how to be a friend to a person with autism. Use large puzzle pieces to post these facts and tips around the school or do a daily fact in your morning announcements |
