From our Home to Yours: ASGA Holiday Recipes This holiday season, we’ll be sharing favorite family recipes, the story behind them, and why they are important to us and our family memories. Leslie Bloom, ASGA Director of Communications and Development "I grew up in a mixed household where we celebrated both Hanukkah and the Christmas holidays. One of my favorite things as a child was learning about both religions and celebrating by both lighting the menorah with my mother and decorating the Christmas tree with my whole family. My favorite thing about Hanukkah was knowing that mom was going to make her amazing potato latkes to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah, which she still does. I prefer mine with the sour cream on top and applesauce on the side. Over the years I began helping her and learning so that I can make them for myself one day. For now, I will help and enjoy hers because I know I will never get them as good as hers. It’s a lot of work but I hope you enjoy Mama Mary’s Potato Latkes!" |

About the Autism Society of Greater Akron The Autism Society of Greater Akron's (ASGA) mission is to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. Parent volunteers of children with Autism founded ASGA in 1987. With nowhere to turn and a lack of information and support, they started ASGA to share information, educate themselves about Autism, and learn how to advocate for better outcomes for their children. They also worked locally to bring awareness and understanding of Autism to the community. ASGA serves Summit, Medina, Portage, Wayne, and Stark county communities. ASGA is also a proud member of the Ohio Family Network (OFN), connecting people with disabilities and their families to local information and resources within their communities. We believe OFN provides opportunities to share ideas, find solutions to common challenges and inspire and strengthen each other |
