Are you a caregiver, family member, or professional supporting individuals with developmental disabilities? The holidays can bring both joyful moments and unique challenges. Join us for our next VOICE Advocacy Session to explore practical, person-centered tools that help families plan ahead, advocate effectively, and create more meaningful and manageable holiday experiences.
Together, we’ll discuss ways to prepare for seasonal transitions and gatherings, strengthen communication with family, friends, and support teams, and use advocacy tools to reduce stress and promote inclusion.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this interactive three-part session, we’ll cover:
Part 1 – Life Trajectory: Mapping your family’s goals and vision for the season
Part 2 – One-Page Profile: Capturing what’s most important to and for your family member
Part 3 – Social Story: Creating personalized stories and routines for holiday gatherings, including Thanksgiving
Advocacy in Action: Using these tools to communicate needs and promote understanding
Materials will be emailed to registrants in advance so you can participate, follow along, and use the tools yourself in real time.
