call for artworkARTWORK DISPLAYED

Painting, sketches, photographs and sculpture will be on display at the Art of Autism.  Artists will express their connection to or interpretation of autism through their artwork.

Attendees at the VIP Reception will vote on the eight pieces they like best.  Pieces chosen will be included in an Autism Awareness Note Card set that will be sold to benefit the Autism Society of Greater Akron.

Ethan Olaes is a young, rising artist.  He plays several instruments, with the piano, guitar, violin and harmonica being his favorites.  Ethan just made his debut performance at Carnegie Hall. 

Ethan has autism. He also has perfect pitch.  An artist of few words, Ethan speaks through his music- a universal language that bridges all differences. His virtuosity is a testament to the greatness residing in all of us!

Rosemary Steinbrook is the mother of Felix, who was diagnosed with autism at age two.  She is also a professionally trained dancer and choreographer, with a degree in dance from Wright State University. 

Ms. Steinbrook choreographed this dance to express her relationship with Felix, motherhood, and autism. 

Dancers Katie Borne and Caitlyn Higley, pupils of Ms. Steinbrook’s at “8 Count Dance” in Green, Ohio, will leave you riveted.
