Saddle Up for a Wild West Adventure on the Rails!
About the Event
Join the Northeast Ohio Live Steamers and the Autism Society of Greater Akron for an afternoon of train rides, outdoor recreation, and community connection. Autistic individuals of all ages, family members, caregivers, and direct support professionals are invited to enjoy miniature train rides through the woods, fields, and station area while spending time together in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
The day also includes a cookout, Wild West-themed activities, and opportunities to connect with others in the autism community.

Who Can Attend?
- Autistic children, teens, and adults
- Parents and family members
- Caregivers
- Direct support professionals
- Support teams accompanying participants
We welcome attendees of all ages and support needs.
Registration & Time Slots
- To help minimize wait times, attendance is divided into three scheduled time slots.
- Each time slot is limited to 15 families.
- Participants may ride as many trains as time allows during their scheduled session.
Food, Refreshments & Activities
- Hot dog
- Bag of chips
- Beverage
- Access to all train rides and activities
Cost
- $10 per person
- Maximum of $40 per family

Accessibility & Safety Information

Train Ride Requirements
- Children must be able to sit independently on a train seat.
- Infants who cannot sit independently must be held securely in front of an adult rider.
What to Bring
This is an outdoor event. We recommend bringing:
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
- Comfortable outdoor clothing
- Water bottle (optional)
While parts of the property offer shade, much of the event takes place outdoors.
Weather Policy
The event is entirely outdoors. There is no rain date.
Parking & Restrooms
- Free onsite parking is available for all attendees.
- There is one Port-A-John and one Public Handicap Accessible restroom available onsite.
- A handwashing station is located outside the restroom area.
- Additional water taps are available throughout the property.
