Understanding Ohio’s DD Waivers
This free virtual lunch-and-learn session provided an overview of Ohio’s three developmental disability (DD) waivers: the SELF Waiver, Level One Waiver, and Individual Options (IO) Waiver. Viewers learned about the history and purpose of HCBS (Home and Community-Based Services) waivers, how they help individuals avoid institutional care, and how eligibility is determined.
The session covered key topics including the needs assessment process, financial and functional requirements, waiting lists, and the appeals process for denied services.
