Charting the LifeCourse was developed to support and empower people to have the good life they value. The principles and tools taught in Charting the LifeCourse can be used with families living with disabilities, new college graduates, employees ready to retire--anyone across the lifespan and all abilities.
We will learn how to use the following tools:
Session 2: November 12, 2020 | 6:30pm - 8:00pm
We will continue to build a Charting the LifeCourse Portfolio for your loved one, helping you to organize your thoughts with the goal of sharing the Portfolio with anyone who assists you, paid and unpaid. Families can develop a Portfolio for loved ones from infancy through aging. Families and individuals with disabilities have shared that preparing a Portfolio has helped them feel “Paper Power” or “Paper Courage” when they are asked by their teams to identify their goals or aspirations.

Charting the LifeCourse™ and LifeCourseTools.com is a project of the University of Missouri–Kansas City Institute for Human Development, Missouri’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Services (UCEDD).
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
BARBARA SAPHARAS
Barb has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for over 40 years. She has an MA in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) from Cleveland State University. She has worked as an SLP, Support Administrator, Staff Development Specialist and Direct Support Professional. She is an Ohio Ambassador for Charting the LifeCourse working with the Ohio State University, National Team Member of Charting the LifeCourse-University of Missouri, Kansas City (UMKC), Mentor Trainer in the international Learning Community for Person Centered Practices (TLC-PCP) and serves as a Board Member of the Ohio Self Determination Association and of the International Sibling Leadership Network. Her perspective as a sibling and professional support her passion to empower people with disabilities, families, and professionals.
Do I need to register?
Yes, registration is required for planning purposes, but you only need to do so once. You will receive the zoom link via email after your registration form is received.
