WIDE AWAKE: AUTISM & SLEEP CHALLENGES

My child won't fall asleep without me. My child wakes up frequently at night and won't go back to sleep. My child wakes up way too early!  Sound familiar?

According to a recent study published in the American Academy of Pediatrics, close to half of children diagnosed with some form of autism have significant difficulties with sleep. These difficulties can include problems falling asleep, night waking, early-morning waking, and shorter overall sleeping time.

In this webinar ASGA talks with Dr. Carrie Cuffman, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician at Cleveland Clinic Children’s about:

  • Why do so many children with autism have problems with sleeping?
  • Does this lack of good sleep have consequences?
  • How do I pinpoint and address the causes of my child’s sleep problems?
  • When do I bring up sleep concerns to medical providers?
  • Are there treatments available to help my child with autism sleep better?
