LEGO is a toy that is perfectly suited for individuals with special needs. It allows for creative, solitary play; it offers repetitive, stress-reducing movements that build motor skills, and it is a vehicle for social skill building and speech enhancement. In addition, LEGOs build an interest that individuals with a disability can share with their typical peers. And, LEGOs are fun! Today there are multiple practitioners as well as books and programs all focused on the many benefits of LEGO play.

MEET THE CLUB LEADER
My name is Nailah Parrish, I’m a senior Integrated Language Arts major at Kent State University. I’m originally from Maryland, and some of my favorite things to do are sing and make music, watch movies, and read books. I’m excited to see what builds we create together in Lego Club!
