The Summit County Step Into Autism Walk, Resource Fair, and Family Fun Day is this Saturday! Whether you have already registered or are still considering joining us, we want to make sure you know what to expect! There is a lot of information below but we want to make sure you are prepared.

Step Into Autism Walk, Resource Fair, and Family Fun Day
June 18 • Lock 3 Park
10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
(Schedule and activities are subject to change) 

Bring your team signs and shirts and show off your team spirit! 
9:00 a.m. | Disability Accessible Vaccine Clinic open - Register HERE or Walk-Ins Welcome as time allows

10:00 a.m. | Event Opens

  • Hearts for Music Special Needs Orchestra performance 
  • Resource Fair- Almost 30 service providers to visit
  • Character meet and greets! 501st Legion (Star Wars), Part of Their World Disney characters, Northeast Ohio Ghostbusters, and more!
  • Inflatable Slide and Bounce House open

10:30 a.m. | Welcome, Warm-Up, Celebrations, and Team Rally before the walk

  • We will celebrate top fundraisers, volunteers, Autistic Pride Day, Juneteenth, Father's Day, and more! 

11:00 a.m. | WE WALK! 1 or 2-mile walk options  (See Below for routes)

11:30 a.m. | Finish-Line celebrations/ After Party!

12:15 p.m. | Dance Party at the stage with Sparkles Cheerleaders and characters 

1:00 p.m. | Event Ends

PARKING:
Parking is available in the O’Neil’s State Street parking deck (GPS: State Street Deck, Akron) and on S. Main St. near Lock 3 (where available)

2022 SUMMIT COUNTY WALK T-SHIRT PICK-UP
Any individual who raises $50 or more is eligible for this year's walk t-shirt! Walk day t-shirt pick-up will be near the ASGA tent. If you have earned a shirt and cannot pick up at the walk, please contact Leslie@autismakron.org to set up a pick-up time after June 18. Supply and sizes are limited- anyone raising $50 or more after 5/28 will be first come first serve on size choice.

ASGA TENT: Left of stage 

  • Autism resources
  • 2022 Walk T-shirt and Team Captain Bag PICK-UP
  • Free Participant resource bag pick-up (one per family)
  • Free Celebration Streamer pick up
  • Autism merchandise for sale including 2021 walk t-shirts, Autism Awareness yard signs, and more. (While supplies last)
  • 50/50 tickets - $5 each, 5 for $20
  • Donation Station. Drop off your fundraising. Make a donation. Cash, cards, and checks will be accepted. Checks payable to the Autism Society of Greater Akron. 
  • First-aid kit

CONCESSIONS- Lunch and Snacks:

$5 Lunch Meal Deal available ($1 of each Meal Deal purchased will be donated to ASGA.)

Meal Deal includes: Hot dog, bag of chips, small drink (water or power-aid)

A la carte options include:

  • Nachos (Gluten-free)- $3.00
  • Soft Pretzel - $3.00
  • Cheese cup - $0.50
  • Jumbo hot dog- $3.00
  • Kids hot dog- $2.00
  • Bag of Chips- $1.00
  • Soda- $2.00

SAFETY:
Masks are not required, but please feel free to wear them if you feel more comfortable.

Please help us keep the Lock safe. If you see or hear something concerning, please call 9-1-1 and notify staff at the ASGA table.

The restrooms in the building will be available for handwashing.

FIRST AID:
A First-Aid kit will be available at the ASGA tent located to the left of the stage. If you have a medical need, please find a volunteer in a yellow vest or teal polo.

If you have an emergency that requires EMS, please call 9-1-1.

WEATHER AND HYDRATION:
Be sure to stay hydrated. There will be water stations available and refreshments sold at concessions. Please feel free to bring your own beverages and snacks if you would like. Please plan for the weather as there is no shade. It should be a beautiful day for us! 

NO PETS ALLOWED: 
Please only bring certified service animals to the event for the safety of the attendees around you. Some may be afraid of your animal or loud barking may upset those around you. Thank you in advance for adhering to this request.

QUIET SPACE
If a quiet space is needed, please visit the ASGA table for where to go.
