ASGA’s mission is more critical than ever as we serve one of the most vulnerable populations in our community – individuals with autism and their families – at a time when we cannot physically come together. Like all Ohio families, this is tough. For families with a child with autism, who often have communication challenges, thrive on routine, and depend on the village of teachers, therapists, and other support professionals – it can be a disaster!
The Autism Society of Greater Akron’s Board of Directors and staff have worked hard to re-prioritize our budget and programs to respond to the many requests we have received for help and support that meet people’s needs today. Our goals have not changed, we are just doing them a little differently.

Parents/Guardians can apply for funding for respite care services and food support or a break from cooking, offering gift cards to Walmart or Giant Eagle.

We are asking people to make cards, crafts, or other expressions of support, and send them to our offices to provide cheer to people with disabilities who are unable to visit with friends or family at this time.
